NLC REJECTS MOVE TO REMOVE MINIMUM WAGE FROM EXCLUSIVE LIST………

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has strongly opposed any plan to shift labour matters, including the minimum wage, from the Exclusive to the Concurrent Legislative List.

NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, speaking at a meeting in Abeokuta, warned that such a move would harm workers and the economy. He vowed to mobilize nationwide protests if the attempt continues.

Ajaero also urged the Federal Government and security agencies to take firm action against rising insecurity.

He reaffirmed NLC’s support for true local government autonomy and pledged to defend workers against employer abuse.
