NUC APPROVES EBONYI STATE UNIVERSITY OF AERONAUTICS………..

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of the Ebonyi State University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering in Ezza, Ebonyi State.

The approval letter was presented in Abuja to Governor Francis Nwifuru, represented by Deputy Governor Princess Patricia Obila, by NUC Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Ribadu.

Professor Ribadu stated that the university will only begin operations after a full assessment of its facilities and assured continued support from the NUC. He also urged the state government to equally support all its three state-owned universities and rotate TETFund interventions for balanced development.

Deputy Governor Obila said the specialized university will train Nigerians in aviation technology and create opportunities in the high-demand global aerospace sector.

With this, Ebonyi now hosts the 69th state-owned university, bringing the total number of universities in Nigeria to 300.
