JUBILATUON IN KANO AS PENSIONERS RECEIVE ₦22 BILLION UNDER GOV. ABBA YUSUF………

Thousands of retirees in Kano State are celebrating after receiving ₦22 billion in long-overdue gratuity payments.

The payments, made through the Kano State Pension Trustees, are part of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s plan to clear the ₦48 billion backlog inherited from previous administrations.

Beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude. Uzairu Umar Dambatta, a former KNARDA staff, received ₦1.875 million. Retired teacher Ladi Lawan Dawakin Tofa got ₦1.635 million, saying the alert felt like a miracle.

At a payout ceremony, Governor Yusuf pledged to pay the remaining ₦26 billion:

“This is our duty, not charity to those who served our state faithfully.”

Civil society groups and retirees’ unions have hailed the initiative as a major step toward restoring dignity and trust ian governance.
