KEBBI POLICE COMMAND DEBUNKS AIRPORT RUMOUR

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Kebbi State Police Command has dismissed a false report circulating on social media claiming that a retired Customs officer is constructing a private airport in Argungu forest to smuggle cocaine and other illegal drugs into Nigeria.

Police spokesperson CSP Nafiu Abubakar described the story as baseless and misleading, aimed at tarnishing the image of the state and the police.

He warned that such fake news could create fear, embolden criminals, and undermine ongoing security operations. The Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property while ensuring Kebbi remains safe and peaceful.

The public is urged to disregard the rumour and verify information before sharing. The Command pledged continued collaboration with credible media to combat misinformation and promote peace in the state.
