By:Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Kebbi State Police Command has rescued six kidnapped victims unhurt in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Police spokesperson CSP Nafiu Abubakar said in a statement that on November 2, 2025, about twelve armed bandits invaded Ukuhu, Tungar Wazga, and Unguwar Chiroma villages, abducting ten people.

Acting swiftly, the Divisional Police Officer of Danko led a joint team of police officers and vigilantes to pursue the attackers. They intercepted the bandits at Marina village near the Zamfara border and engaged them in a fierce gun battle.

The confrontation forced the kidnappers to flee into the forest, leaving behind six captives, Abubakar Abubakar, Nasiru Magawata, Abdul Magawata, Buhari Ukuhu, Kamalu Magawata, and Naziru Magawata, who were rescued safely and reunited with their families after medical checks.

Commissioner of Police CP Bello Sani commended the DPO and his team for their swift response, courage, and professionalism.
