By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Adamawa State Judiciary has sworn in 32 new magistrates to strengthen its judicial workforce and enhance quick justice delivery across the state.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Chief Judge’s Court Hall, High Court Complex, Yola, presided over by the Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman.

Justice Abdulrahman, who also chairs the State Judicial Service Commission (JSC), urged the new magistrates to uphold integrity, fairness, and diligence in the discharge of their duties. She emphasized respect for constitutional rights, especially the granting of bail, describing it as a fundamental element of justice.

The Chief Judge warned against misconduct, stressing that the JSC would discipline any erring magistrate.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Magistrate Peter Joseph expressed gratitude to the Chief Judge and the JSC, pledging to serve without fear or favour.

Chairperson of the Magistrates Association of Nigeria (Adamawa Chapter), Chief Magistrate Uwani Danladi, welcomed the new magistrates and urged them to uphold justice to earn public trust.

The event drew notable dignitaries, including the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Afraimu Jingi, Kadis of the Sharia Court, the President of the Customary Court of Appeal, and other senior members of the Bench and Bar.
