DIRI PRESENTS N998.3BN BAYELSA 2026 BUDGET TO ASSEMBLY

Governor Douye Diri has submitted the N998.3 billion Bayelsa 2026 Appropriation Bill, tagged “Budget of Assured Prosperity II,” to the State House of Assembly. He said the budget aims to boost infrastructure, improve services, and enhance the quality of life for residents.
The proposed budget is nearly N300 billion higher than that of 2025. It allocates 64.6% to capital projects and 35.4% to recurrent spending, with strong focus on ongoing works, education, health, sports, water supply, power, and agriculture.
Governor Diri urged lawmakers to ensure speedy passage. Speaker Abraham Ingobere pledged the Assembly’s support and commended the administration’s development drive.
