CSO CONDEMNS CREATION OF PARALLEL HISBAH GROUP IN KANO

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

A human rights group, AHRCVDI, has condemned the alleged formation of a parallel Hisbah group, “Hisba Independent Fisabilillahi,” in Kano State, warning it could cause chaos and threaten public order.

Executive Director Sambo Jibril Jada described the move as an illegal attempt to create a rival enforcement body outside the state’s legal framework, saying it undermines the authority of the government and could spark conflict.

He urged Governor Abba Yusuf and security agencies to take immediate action and called on residents to remain law-abiding and reject any illegitimate group.
