By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Two persons have been confirmed dead in a road accident involving an 18-seater bus and a van along the Sagbama–Ekeremor road in Bayelsa State. The bus was conveying passengers to Ofoni community for the funeral of the state’s Deputy Governor.

The Bayelsa State Government has taken over the medical care of the injured victims, with Governor Douye Diri directing health officials to ensure proper treatment. Authorities dismissed online reports claiming higher casualties, confirming that the injured survivors are stable and responding to treatment in state hospitals.
