KWANKWASO DENIES WORKING FOR TINUBU’S 2027 RE-ELECTION

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Former Kano State Governor and 2023 NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has dismissed claims that he is working for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 polls.

Speaking during an interview on Global TV, Kwankwaso described the allegation as false and insisted that he was not politically aligned with the President despite their longstanding personal relationship.

He was reacting to comments by the spokesperson to Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, who alleged that the former NNPP leader was indirectly supporting Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Kwankwaso maintained that he remains focused on the Nigeria Democratic Congress coalition, adding that friendship with Tinubu does not mean they share the same political ideology.

The former governor also criticised the current administration, claiming that those surrounding the President were shielding him from the realities facing Nigerians.
