The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were previously withheld over suspected examination malpractice.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, who explained that the release followed ongoing investigations into cases flagged during the 2026 UTME.
According to JAMB, some candidates were cleared after investigations found no evidence linking them to malpractice, while results tied to confirmed infractions have either remained withheld or been cancelled.
The board stated that investigations are still ongoing in centres where suspicious activities were observed during the examination.
JAMB advised candidates whose results are yet to be released to check their status through the official SMS platform using the phone numbers used during registration.
The 2026 UTME, which began on April 16 and ended on April 23, recorded over two million candidates across examination centres worldwide.
