President Bola Tinubu has appointed technology expert and academic, Segun Aina, as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), succeeding Professor Is-haq Oloyede.
The appointment marks a major leadership transition at the examination body after nearly a decade under Oloyede, whose tenure was widely credited with reforms in examination administration, transparency and revenue generation.
At 39, Aina becomes the youngest person ever appointed to lead JAMB.
According to a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the new registrar brings extensive experience in digital infrastructure, examination systems and institutional reform.
Aina studied Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Kent and later earned postgraduate degrees in Internet Computing, Network Security and Digital Signal Processing from Loughborough University.
The Presidency said his appointment reflects the administration’s commitment to innovation and modernisation in Nigeria’s education sector.
