The first civilian Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Sam Egwu, and other stakeholders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) have pledged to mobilise support for the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 general election.
They made the pledge during a town hall meeting in Abakaliki, where Egwu described Obi as a credible candidate with a track record of leadership.
Egwu assured Obi of the party’s commitment to securing support across the state and urged members to mobilise voters and protect their votes during the election.
Also speaking, the chairman of the town hall planning committee and NDC Ebonyi Central senatorial candidate, Professor Bernard Odoh, said party members would defend their votes.
The party’s Ebonyi South senatorial candidate, Chief Linus Okorie, also expressed confidence in Obi’s leadership, assuring that NDC members would work towards delivering support for him in the state.
