17 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS TRANSITION COUNCIL CHAIRMEN HAVE BEEN SWORN-IN IN ABIA STATE                                                                                   01-12-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    17 Local Governments Transition Council Chairmen have been sworn-in in Abia State with a charge to develop programmes that support the rebuilding agenda of the state government.

Performing the ceremony at the Micheal Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, Governor Otti told the council chairmen to prioritize the security and welfare of the people of Abia State as they pilot the affairs of their Council Areas.

The Governor described the swearing in of the TC Chairmen as a strategic step towards meeting the developmental needs of the state and urged them to guard against distractions.

Governor Otti also stated that his administration was eager to accommodate the LG as new strategic partners in developing Abia State and addressing the critical challenges facing the people.

In a speech, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Uzor Nwachukwu, said that the present administration was focused on even spread of socioeconomic growth in the local government areas.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the TC Chairman for IsialaNgwa South Local Government Area, Dr. Elelenta Elelenta, thanked the government for the opportunity to serve and pledged to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
