POLICE APPREHENDS CHILDREN TRAFFICKERS, VEHICLE THIEVES, KIDNAPPERS OTHERS IN KANO                                                                       28-12-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Kano Police Command says it has apprehended nine suspects for human trafficking and seven victims were rescued .

The commissioner of police CP Mohammad Hussein Gumel disclosed this during a media briefing held in Kano.

He said the police command conducted several intelligence- led operations through which the long time cycle of inter – state trafficking syndicates hibernating around Kano, Bauchi, Gobe, Lagos, Delta, Anambra and Imo State were identified and dismantled.

He said a total of nine suspects were arrested with seven victims who were mostly minors .

CP Mohammad Hussein Gumel maintained that the police were able to apprehend the suspects through diligent investigation,stressing that investigation reveals that the syndicates networks have been in existence for more than ten years.

He said the police command was able to neutralize many kidnapping networks “just at this eve of X-Mas and New Year, another five gang members were apprehended bringing a total eleven arrowheads of the network were apprehended with two more victims rescued ”

The Commissioner noted that the command had succeeded in dismantling a cross border motor vehicles Armed Robbery syndicates, saying 11 suspects were arrested with recovery of two revolver pistols and five stolen vehicles.

He added that upon completion of investigation the suspects would be prosecuted.

CP Mohammad Hussein Gumel appreciated the support of the media and the general populace, and urged them to redouble efforts geared towards achieving the set objectives.
