By Sadiq Aminu                                                           Nasarawa State Police Commissioner Mr.Umar Shehu Nadada has ordered immediate deployment of security operatives and vigilantes to identified areas around the borders between the state and the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja.

Police Public Relations Officer DSP RAMHAN NANSEL in a statement said the measure became necessary following the recent rising spate of kidnapping and security challenges in some areas of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

DSP Ramhan Nansel called on the security agencies to be proactive and display a high level of professionalism in preventing possible escalation of the trend into the state.

He stated that the Police Commissioner had tasked Area Commanders of New Karu, Keffi, and Nasarawa including all Divisional Police officers in the local government councils under them to mobilize personnel to be on red alert for prompt response to any suspicious movements in the area.

DSP Ramhan Nansel noted that the command had stepped up a robust collaboration with local vigilantes, traditional rulers, Community leaders, and other security agencies in the areas of intelligence gathering and information sharing to ensure adequate protection of lives and property in the state.
