LITIGATION IS OVER, TIME FOR GOVERNANCE: GOV BALA REACTS TO HIS TRIBUNAL’S VICTORY                                                                         20-09-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has confirmed the victory of Governor Bala Mohammed on Saturday 18th March 2023.

The Tribunal, led by Justice PT Kwahar, struck out the petition filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC Retired Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar, challenging the victory of Bala Mohammed as earlier declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.

Delivering the judgement, Justice PT Kwahar held that the court has no grounds to nullify the election as the petitioners failed to provide convincing evidence.

Reacting to the court’s verdict, Governor Bala Mohammed who described the development as a victory to the country’s democracy commended the tribunal for meeting the overwhelming expectation of people.

He appreciated the sacrifices made by his legal team led by Mr. Chris Uche SAN, the State PDP officials, supporters during the court’s proceedings.

Why calling on the opposition to submit to the will of God by shelving their sword, Bala Mohammed said governance would now take centre stage towards consolidating on his achievements.

On his part, lead council to the plaintiff Mr Kola Olawaye SAN said they would apply for the certified true copy of the judgement and discuss with his client for further action.
