Gov. Bello applaudes Hon. Abdullahi Garba for contribution towards development

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has applauded Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (lawmaker representing Kontagora, Wushishi, Mariga, and Mashegu Federal Constituency) for his efforts towards infrastructural development and women and youth empowerment in his constituency.
This was made known by the chief press secretary to the governor of Niger State, Mary Noel-Berje in a press statement made available to news men in Niger state.
Bello gave the commendation when he commissioned a sports multipurpose complex constructed by the lawmaker and subsequently flagged off the distribution of empowerment items and cash as start-up packs for about 1,600 beneficiaries.
The governor acknowledged that the Federal lawmaker has been providing dividends of democracy to the people of his Constituency.
He said the sports complex will provide the youths opportunities to engage in one sporting activity or another thereby reducing youth restiveness.
He also expressed optimism that the empowerment items distribution will go a long way in creating jobs and wealth for the people.
 “He has done tremendously well. Apart from this infrastructure which will help reduce youth restiveness, he also went ahead to do a youth empowerment program. I believe this will go a long way in creating jobs.
“Most of them will use these items to take care of their families and who knows, maybe this could be a platform to start other ventures”, he said.
The governor urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items and cash given to them for their benefit and that of the society.
In his remarks, Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba who is the brain behind the construction of the sports complex and women and youths empowerment said “it is a stepping stone for the people of my constituency”.
The Chairman of the organizing committee, Barrister Lawal Yusuf who gave the highlight of cash and items to be distributed explained that N500,000 will be shared among 500 beneficiaries, and another 500 people will have freezers.
He added that 240 people will have sewing machines, tricycles also known as Kekenapep to 100 beneficiaries, 100 tricycles for the physically challenged persons, cars for 35 beneficiaries and irrigation pumping machines for 100 people.
In his goodwill messages, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial candidate, Mohammed Umar Bago also expressed his joy and commended Abdullahi Idris Garba adding that, when elected as the Governor of the state, his administration will do more.
“I am so excited that this is coming at a crucial period of our election he has done very well and has done a lot for the youths. The stadium is going to provide extracurricular activities for the youths. This is the tip of the iceberg”, he said.
Also speaking, Former Niger North Senator (2011-2015), Ibrahim Musa, assured the people of more dividends of Democracy if they vote for all APC candidates in the coming elections.
The Governor made symbolic presentations of some of the items to beneficiaries.
He thereafter kicked off the 7th edition of the Governor’s Cup Finals between Kontagora’s local government and their Shiroro counterpart. Kontagora won the finals  6-5 via a penalty shootout after ending the game 2-2 in regulation time
The sports multipurpose complex comprises indoor and outdoor games.
