Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Imam of Kontagora Emir’s Palace, Ahmed Shehu Rimaye.
Governor Sani Bello described the late Imam as a man of peace, bridge-builder and a unifier.
“He was a bridge builder, and peacemaker and was able to unite different sects of Islamic origin and so here in Kontagora, the different sects work together”, he said.
The Governor said that the demise of the Imam has created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill.
Governor Sani Bello enjoined the family members to be consoled by the good and exemplary life the deceased lived.
He prayed Allah forgives the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him Aljannat Firdaus as well as give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Mallam. Sabiu Umar and Sheriff Awwal Kano led special prayers for the repose of the soul of late Imam Rimaye.
The Governor thereafter, attended the annual Zikir and wedding Fatiha of 17 couples as well as Qur’anic graduation ceremony of Zawiya Shahu Adamu Kontagora.
The Governor was in company of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gubernatorial candidate and Member Representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency, Umar Mohammed Bago, Abdullahi Idris Garba, Member Representing Kontagora, Mariga, Wushishi, and Mashegu Federal Constituency and other top government functionaries as well as APC stalwarts.
