KANO CP: WE HAVE INVESTIGATED OVER A THOUSAND SUSPECTS IN THREE MONTHS FOR CRIMINAL OFFENCES….

The Kano police command says it has arrested and investigated over one thousand suspects for committing various criminal offenses in the last three months in the state.
The state commissioner of Police CP Mohammad Gumel disclosed this while addressing journalist at the Nigeria Union of journalist secretariat Kano.
He said the police command in kano has adopted modern techniques of modern policing with the aim of crushing down all crime and criminal activities in the state.
CP Gumel said the police in kano had succeeded in curtailing the menace of phone snatching and thuggery activities which was causing a lot fears in the minds of the general population of the state.
” on my assumption on duty as the commissioner of Police I was made to understand that phone snatching, thuggery and criminal activities were jeopardizing the peaceful coexistence of the people in Kano, hence I quickly adopted community partnership and technical intelligence strategy to address the issue ”
CP Gumel maintained that criminal activities has been push to the wall by the Kano state police command.
“Criminal activities like cattle rustling , kidnapping , armed robbery and other crimes were no where to be found in Kano ”
” we implore modern sensitization strategy ,collaboration with sister security agencies in Kano and having dialogue meetings with some identified criminals which has yielded positive results in addressing security challenges in the state.”
The Commissioner of Police added that among the items recovered by the police includes , Guns, ammunition , motor cycles , laptops, among others.
