The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP says it frowns at the unconstitutional change of government in Niger Republic but it is not in support of any move to forcefully remove the junta from power.

In as a statement, the
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Debo Ologunagba
maintains that the PDP holds that the situation in Niger Republic does not warrant any external peace-keeping effort and does not constitute any threat to Nigeria’s national interest.

The PDP says the situation does not justify committing Nigeria’s already overstretched military to harm’s way in what it calls a ‘needless war’

The opposition party therefore urges the Military High Command to be guided by the provisions of the Constitution of Nigeria at all times.
