As the distribution of palliatives in Niger state begins today, most polling units in Minna the state capital have not commenced any form of distribution.
Some polling unit visited such as F Lay Out, Ami GLO Barikin Sale, Maitumbi Anguwan Roka, and Bosso Emir Palace were all seen empty as no committee members or residents waiting there for their palliatives.
Investigation by Radio Nigeria in Minna reliably gathered that some polling units have not purchased items for distribution to Nigerlites.
Further findings also revealed that most stakeholders in some Local Government Councils in Niger State have insisted that the money should have been shared rather than procurement of food items for distribution as directed by Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago.
Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago had earlier declared September six, seven, and eight as public holidays for the distribution of palliatives across the twenty five Local Government Councils to ease their hardship.
He however warned that any person no matter how highly placed found to have been involved in diverting the palliatives meant for the poor will be jailed.
