FCT UNVEILS MANUAL TO TACKLE GENDER BASED VIOLENCE IN FCT SCHOOLS                                                                                                             26-09-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        Federal Capital Territory Administration has unveiled Manual to tackle Gender Based Violence and other related issues across schools in the territory.
At the unveiling of the manual in Abuja, the Secretary FCT Education Secretariat, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, said the manual was to further make FCT schools more safe, accessible and inclusive to all gender.
Dr. Hayyo explained that the issue of Gender Based Violence was of great concern to the development of every society that required collective efforts of all stakeholders to tackled
The Director, FCT Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Alhassan Sule, represented by the Director Junior Secondary Schools Hajiya Ramatu Nusa, said the girl child should always be encouraged to speak out when they are abused or threatened.
According to the Director, Special Duties FCT Education Secretariat, Hajiya Ramatu Abu, the manual will serve as guide and problem solving in addressing the menace of Gender Based Violence and other related issues in FCT Schools.
Hajiya Ramatu Abu, called on stakeholders in education sectors to create platforms where students especially girl child will be free to speak out on any violence against them.
