CHANNEL YOUR GRIEVANCE THROUGH RELEVANT AUTHORITY TO AVOID VIOLENCE- PUBLIC COMPLAINTS COMMISSION 13-10-22

The Chief Commissioner Public Complaint Commission (Ombudsman), Mr Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf, has called on Nigerians to always air their grievances to relevant authorities and never to resort to violence.
He made the call during the commemoration of the fifth annual 2023 International Ombudsman day, held in Kano.
Mr. Abimbola represented by the head of legal department, Public Complaints Commission Kano Office, Barrister Usman Bello, explained that the services of the Ombudsman are needed now more than ever, to provide succor to the people, and give guidance to the authorities.
The chief commissioner pointed out that, their common goal is to improve the quality of democracy, provide an unending prospect to have an effective review of complaints, and allay fears about service delivery and provide remedy for injustice and unfairness.
He stressed that, the institution represents an effective instrument that promotes the right to good administration, and the right to a government that revere human rights, accountable and devoid of corruption.
“The fundamental business of the Ombudsman is to detect corruption, improper conduct of officials, eliminate maladministration and ensure the rule of law”
The Chairman, Kano state public complaints and anti corruption commission (PCACC), Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimingado, described the event as apt,considering the current situation of insecurity, as well as the need to creat awareness on alternative dispute resolution.
He reiterated PCACC’s commitment, to partner with relevant stakeholders in fighting corruption in the State.
“We have resolved so many corruption and public cases especially the poor who are indepted by individuals and companies to ensure Justice for the weak”
AFRICA 247 reports that, the event attracted stakeholders including ICPC resident Commissioner, NBA, NUJ , Police and representatives from the Judiciary, among others.
The event themed “Diverse in Role, United in service” was organized by Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), in collaboration with Public Complaints Commission Kano State Office.
