VOTING IN LOKOJA IS GENERALLY PEACEFUL- CHAIRMAN ICC LOKOJA                                                         11-11–23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     Alhaji Sagir Abdulsalam and Some Party agents, Voters, Observers have commended the peaceful conduct of the Governorship election in lokoja and the functionality of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS.

They gave the commendation while monitoring the process in some polling units in Lokoja local government area of Kogi State.

At PU 011, Sherrif Kawu unit, Ward D, Madabo, Lokoja, the Presiding Officer, said that the voting process commenced at some minutes after 9am.
He added that BVAS deployed to the PU was working perfectly.

The party agents for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Basola Maikudi and that of Africa Democratic Congress Baba Yakubu (ADC), as well as All Progressive Congress (APC), Sheriff Abubakar, also described the election as peaceful.

Mallam Hussein Kawu, a Civil Servant, who voted at the PU also said that the election was going on peacefully.
“The election has been going on smoothly. There was no cause for alarm as the election so far has been peaceful. The BVAS is also working well.
He called on the people to remain peaceful till the end of the election.

Also PU 011, a trader Mallam Magani, Yaragi Square, Ward D, Lokoja 207 register voters, the polling process was observed also to be peaceful.

Also at PU 003, Madabo street, Ward, Lokoja, the Presiding Officer, also said that BVAS was working properly.
An observer with the Institute of reconciliation and Conflict Resolution, Alhaji Umar Yusuf also described the process as peaceful.
