ONDO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PASSES 2024 BUDGET OF N395.257B                                                                    29-12-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    The Ondo State House of Assembly has passed the sum of Three Hundred And Ninety-five Billion, Two Hundred And Fifty-seven Million Naira naira for the state 2024 budget.

The budget is over ten billion naira higher than the Three Hundred And Eight-four Billion, Five Hundred And Thirty-three Million Naira proposal presented by the then acting governor Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

In the passed budget , recurrent expenditure is put at One Hundred And Seventy-two Billion, Nine Hundred And Ninety-seven Million, One Hundred And Seventy-two Thousand, Five Hundred Naira.

Capital expenditure is put at two Hundred And Twenty-two Billion, Two Hundred And Fifty-nine Million, Eight Hundred And Twenty-seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira

Submitting the report , the chairman house committee on finance and appropriation , Mr Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi noted that the budget was thoroughly scrutinized to ensure that the people of the State benefit from it .

The committee recommended that all MDAs especially Ondo State internal revenue service should exceed their revenue generation target for the year.

The Speaker, Mr Olamide Oladiji thanked the thanked the lawmakers for their collective sacrifice and the swiftness with which the Appropriation Bill was handled.
