ESTABLISHING NDLEA OFFICE IN FAGGE WOULD MITIGATE DRUG PEDDLING- LAWMAKER                                                                                                                04-01-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The member representing Fagge Federal Constituency, Barrister Mohammad Bello Shehu says, he would do everything possible, to ensure the establishment of a national national drug law enforcement agency (NDLEA),office in his constituency to mitigate drug peddling and abuse.

Barrister Muhammad, made the indication during a media parley, with the Africa 247 corespondent in Kano.

According to him, setting an NDLEA in Fagge local government area,would go a long way in addressing the menace of drug abuse, which is a major catalyst to societal vices.

He stressed that, as part of efforts to uplift healthcare delivery to international standards, he has sponsored a bill for the upgrade of Sabo Garba primary health care (PHC),Fagge which was captured in the 2024 budget, while ofishin Galadima would also be considered after the completion of the first one.

“The bill for the establishment of federal medical center Fagge has scaled second reading, while the bill for college of dental therapy scaled 1st reading, and that of the university of sports Karfi is also on the pipeline”

Barrister Muhammad pointed out that over 512 students, benefitted from 38 million naira registration fees across, Ahmadu Bello University zaria, Bayero university Kano, Yusuf Maitama Sule, Kano University of technology Wudil, Kano state school of health technology, collages of education, polytechnics, among others.

“In addition to that, I have spent millions of naira on indigent students NECO registration as well as purchase of two houses for the establishment of primary school in Rijiyar Lemu”

He stressed that, another milestone achievement is the road construction approved by the federal government in Sabon Gari, Fagge constituency which was included in the 2023 supplementary budget, as well as the ecological project to address erosion at ‘Yan mata Gabas and Zungeru road,
where the federal government would spend two billion naira, and the provision of drainage system at Kwaciri to avert flooding.

The lawmaker pointed out that, as part of efforts to empower youths, tailoring clusters would be set up in each of the wards in Fagge, to make them self reliant and uplift their skills to global standards.

Speaking on improvement on electricity in the area, he said a memorandum of understanding was signed with KEDCO, where a specified amount was paid by shop owners monthly, while the law maker pays a certain percentage ,after every four months.
