KANO HISBAH APPREHENDS 83 TRICYCLE RIDERS FOR INDECENT DRESSING                                                                                                                25-01-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    Kano state hisbah board says it has apprehended 83 tricycle riders for indecent dressing and other unethical acts, within the state metropolis.

The commander general, Kano state hisbah board Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, made the disclosure while parading the suspects, at hisbah headquarters in Sharada, Kano municipal local government area.

Represented by his deputy in charge of operations, Dr. Mujahid Aminudeen Abubakar, he explained that, some were apprehended at hot spots conveying drug peddlers, while some were indecently dressed.

He pointed out that, the law establishing hisbah, forbids carrying male and female passengers in one tricycle, as well as other unethical acts, capable of promoting societal vices.

Dr. Mujahid, charged the tricycle riders to desist from any act capable of tarnishing their image as Muslims, and urged them to report any suspected passenger to relevant authorities.

In his remarks, the assistant commander general (ACG), operations, Malam Abubakar Salihu maintained that, hisbah personnel succeeded in arresting the tricycle riders along Gidan Murtala, BUK road, Kabuga, Kofar Nasarawa among others.

He decried over rising cases of indecent dressing and overloading, calling on motorists to abide by traffic rules to avoid accidents.

The deputy commander General Women wing, Dr. Khadijah Sagir Sulaiman hinted that women especially students, complain about how tricycle riders bully them when they try to advise them, against mixing men and women in one vehicle.
