SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS THE ELECTION OF AGBU KEFAS IN THE 2023 TARABA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION                                                                 25-01-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Supreme Court has upheld the election victory of Agbu Kefas of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 Taraba governorship election.

The apex court in a unanimous decision dismissed the appeal by Professor Yahaya Sani of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) for grossly lacking in merit.

In the lead judgment, Justice Garba Lawal held that the appeal court was right to have dismissed the appellants appeal on the ground of incomplete records.

Justice Lawal also held that since the records of appeal were incomplete, the issues raised by the NNPP had no foundation.
