BYE-ELECTION RESULTS FOR SURULERE FEFERAL CONSTITUENCY                                                                                  03-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Surulere Federal Constituency One, Mr. Fuad Laguda the winner of the bye-election.

The Returning Officer, Professor Ladipo Adebayo of the University of Lagos announced that the APC candidate scored eleven thousand two hundred and three votes, to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Jerry Afemighie, who polled two hundred and seventy-eight votes.

The Labour Party candidate, Adeola Adebanjo scored two hundred and forty votes, 240.

Total votes cast are eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine, while rejected votes are one hundred and thirty-eight.
