NASARAWA POLICE ON RED ALERT ACROSS TOWNS AND VILLAGES TO PROTECT GOVT INSTALLATIONS                                                                    26-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     Personnel of the Nasarawa State Police command have been placed on red alert across major towns and villages to protect government installations, and critical private and public infrastructure.

This according to the State Police Commissioner Umar Shehu Nadada is in a bid to reassure citizens of the Command’s commitment towards ensuring their safety during the planned nationwide protests by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC

A statement by the Police command’s public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Ramhan Nansel, indicates that the command is aware of the constitutional rights of all citizens to peaceful protest.

The statement however advises the protesters to ensure all processions are peaceful and conducted within the ambit of the law as violations of other people’s rights under the guise of protest will not be tolerated.

It further states that the operational and manpower provision are to ensure hitch-free conduct of any procession, and warns officers to be civil and professional in the discharge of their duties.

The statement urges residents to go about their lawful business without any fear of intimidation as well calls on parents and guardians to prevail on their children and wards to shun all forms of violence and be law-abiding.
