KANO STATE HISBAH COMMANDER GENERAL SHEIKH AMINU DURAWA RESIGNS 01-03-24
By Sadiq Aminu The Commander General of Kano State Hisbah, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has resigned.
Daurawa announced this on a video stating that he has tried his best to uphold the morality of TikTokers but to no avail.
He made the statement on his Instagram page on Friday morning from Kaduna, where he was attending a retreat organized by the Kano state House of Assembly.
He apologized to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf over the issue and some comments made by the Governor regarding his work as commander of the Hisbah.
Africa 247 reports that, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has faulted the new method of operations being deployed by Hisbah against acts of immorality in the state.
The Governor spoke on Thursday while addressing Ulama at the Government House, especially against the mode of invading public places in the name of arresting prostitutes, an act he considered uncivilized.
He also frowns at Hisbah’s ‘harassment’ of social media influencers, insisting the board must review its present operations to correct the wrong in the society.
