HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO STRENGTHEN SYNERGY WITH CSOS AND DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS                                                                                    01-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        The House of Representatives has charged Civil Society Organizations, Labour Unions and Development Partners to synergize with the National Assembly and the Federal Government to achieve the desired Socio-economic development.
The House also urged the CSOs, Labour Unions and Development partners not to see themselves as a rival to the government but a stakeholders working together to achieve good governance.
At a stakeholders meeting in Abuja, the Chairman House Committee on Civil Society Organizations and Development Matters, Mr. Victor Obuzor, said the house is committed to it’s core values and strengthening partnership with relevant stakeholders in promoting transparency, accountability and inclusiveness in governance process.
Mr. Obuzor explained that the meeting was significant to fostering mutual relations between CSOs, development partners and donor agencies for the good of all citizens.
The Executive Director, Policy Legal and Advocacy Center PLAC Mr. Clement Nwankwo, explained that the CSOs would support policies and Programs that are aimed at protecting the interests and the rights of the citizens.
Mr Nwankwo, called on the National Assembly not to make laws that are of no interest to the majority of the citizens.
