NORTHERN HOUSE OF REPS’ CAUCUS DONATES N30M TO PLATEAU VICTIMS OF ATTACKS                                                                                                             05-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         The sum of 30 million naira has been donated to the Plateau State Government to assist victims of various attacks in the State.

The donation was made by the Northern Caucus of Members of the House of Representatives, when they paid a condolence visit to the Governor of the state.

Following the attacks on mostly five Local Government Areas of Plateau State, many individuals, corporate organisations, NGO’s top Government officials and spirited individuals have continued to troop in to condole the Government and good people of the state over the unfortunate incidences and to provide various forms of support.

Amongst them was the Northern Caucus of Members from the House of Representatives who visited on a similar mission.

Speaking, leader of the delegation who is the Chairman of the caucus and member representing Dogowa/ Tudun Wada Constituency, Alhassan Ado expressed worry over the level of incessant attacks in the state and pledged the commitment of the National Assembly in addressing the carnages.

The Member who also doubles as the Majority Leader in the House praised the exceptional leadership qualities of the Governor towards restoring peace also called on the State Assembly to have an engagement in view of the proposed constitutional review.

Receiving the delegation, Governor Caleb Mutfwang emphasized the need for unity and identified lack of good and purposeful leadership as bane of the crisis in the north.

The Governor also sought the collaboration of the National Assembly towards ensuring peace and appealed for the adoption of State policing in its proposed constitutional review.
