TROOPS OF JOINT TASK FORCE OPHD RESCUES 15 KIDNAP VICTIMS, KILLED A BANDIT AT TSOHUWAR TASHA 04-03-24
By Sadiq Aminu In Zamfara state, Troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) have rescued 15 kidnap victims and killed a bandit during a daring confrontation in the Tsohuwar Tasha area of Kaura Namoda Local Government.
In a press release made available to Africa 247 in Gusau by the information officer of the Operation Hadarin Daji Lieutenant Omale Suleiman said the troops who swiftly responded to a distress call on March 5, 2024, have engaged the bandits in a fierce gunfight, compelling them to retreat in disarray along a riverline.
“Pursuing the fleeing assailants, our gallant troops managed to neutralize one of the criminals, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.” Lt Omale revealed
According to him during the tactical rescue operation, 8 females and 7 males courageously escaped from the bandits, emerging unharmed.
He added that the area now enjoys a restored sense of normalcy, as the troops embarked on confidence-building patrols in the vicinity.
The troops maintain a state of high alert, with their morale reaching its peak.
General Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Sokoto, commended the unwavering professionalism and resilience displayed by the troops. He therefore urged them to persist in their efforts until peace is fully restored not only in the Northwest but across Nigeria.
