COUNCIL MEMBERS OF MIDSTREAM DOWNSTREAM GAS INFRASTRUCTURE FUND TASKED TO BE INNOVATIVE                                                                   08-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       Council Members of the Midstream Downstream Gas Infrastructure fund have been tasked to strategies innovative means of harnessing the country’s gas infrastructure.

The Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Gas, Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo made the call when inaugurating the Council members in Abuja.

The Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Gas who urged the members to align their aspiration with the Federal Government’s vision for the Oil and Gas sector stressed that the council’s efforts should also lead to a tangible reduction in the prices of Liquified Petroleum Gas and Compressed Natural Gas, to the benefit of particularly the low-income earners in the society.

Ekpo described The Midstream Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund a financial instrument, in fostering an enabling environment for both the private sector and international participation.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Mr. farouk Ahmed said as the second council since creation of the NMDPRA, it would ensure that the objectives of the council were met.

A member of the council, Mrs. Amina Maina pledged the council’s commitment to the development of the gas sector.

The Midstream Downstream Gas Infrastructure fund with a six member council has the mandate to support the midstream and downstream gas infrastructure and foster an environment conducive to private sector participation and international collaboration.
