RAMADAN FEEDING: JGSG TARGETS OVER 5 MILLION BENEFICIARIES ACROSS 27 LGA’S                                                                                                   09-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    Jigawa state government says it has targeted to reach over six million people with different packages under this years Ramadan Feeding Program.

Speaking at the flagg off for the distribution of foodstuffs under the program, the state Governor Malam Umar Namadi said, the state government is aware of the economic situation in the country, therefore it came up with different packages under the Ramadan Feeding program.

He explained that, the aim of the Ramadan Feeding Program is to help the people to get what they can eat in the holy month of Ramadan.

Earlier,the state commissioner for special duties Auwalu Danladi Sankara explained that, 150,000 of 25kg Rice bags,150,000 0f 25kg Maize bags and 100,000 cartons of spaghetti will be distributed to 150,000 households.

“Under every households we are expecting 5 people to benefit which make the total beneficiaries to over 700,000 across the 27 local government area of the state”.

“Governor Malam Umar Namadi has also approved for the ministry through the Ramadan Feeding Program committee to establishe 590 feeling centers”.

According to him, each political ward the state government will establish two feeding centers, with some additional centres in five Emirates and some urban areas.

He pointed out that, at each centre they will feed at least 300 people daily.

He said, a special Ramadan package will also be given to civil servants, security personnel, Emirate councils and other public institutions in the state as a gesture from Governor Umar Namadi.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Africa 247 commended Governor Namadi for the kind gesture.
