KBSG TO BOOST YOUTH DEVELOPMENT BY CONSTRUCTING 9 SKILLS ACQUISITION CENTERS                                                                                       19-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Kebbi State Government, is to construct nine skills acquisition centers across the state for the youth to acquire skills so that they become self employed.

The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Nura Bala Fingila, who disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, said
four centers would be constructed across the four Emirates while the remaining five will be constructed at the zonal offices of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development across the state.

He pointed out that, the decentralisation of the centers at the emirates is to minimise the cost of transportation for the trainees from far away local government areas.

The Commissioner stated that, the Ministry has designed programmes for the benefit of the teeming youths in the state which is in tune with the provision of the National Youth Policy of the federal government such as skills acquisition, youth empowerment scheme, youth foreign, National and Local sponsorship, among others.

According to him, the ministry was ready to collaborate with both local and foreign NGOs, Ministries, agencies and parastatals willing to assist in the empowerment of youth and as well training in trade, agriculture and other sectors.

Bala Fingilla, announced that, the state government was making effort to stem the tide of thuggery among the youth by rehabilitating and integrating them into the society.
