By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Federal Government has been urged to consider approving concessional rates of dollars to Naira for Hajj to ensure success of this year’s Hajj exercise in the country.

The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), had announced last Sunday, additional payment of N1.9 million naira by intending pilgrims who had earlier paid N4.9 million naira for this year’s Hajj due to astronomical increase in the rate of dollars to Naira in the last five months.

In a Statement, the National Coordinator of Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, said granting concessional rates for Hajj should be an annually exercise.

The statement appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently intervene to save the situation .

The statement explained that there is the needs for spiritual intervention to move out of the present socio-economic situation as well as the insecurity pervading the Country.

It noted that granting concession would pave way for the success of the present administration .

The statement commended the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) for its untiring efforts towards ensuring success of the Hajj exercise.
