2024 HAJJ: GOVERNOR YUSUF PAYS A SUBSIDY OF N500,000 TO EACH INTENDING PILGRIM FROM KANO                                                                   27-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has pays off a Subsidy of five hundred thousand Naira for Each Intending Pilgrims who’s intending to perform this years Hajj under the umbrella of Kano State Pilgrims welfare Board.

The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims welfare Board Alhaji Lamin Dan Baffa disclosed this during a media briefing Held in Kano.

He said Kano State Government took the decision with regards to the recent increase of the Hajj Fares by the National Hajj Commission which was attributed to the instability of forex exchange rate.

” We consider the current economic hardship people are facing ,and the increase of Hajj Fares is a great challenge to many intending Pilgrims , that’s why we came up with the Subsidy initiative to alleviate the sufferings of intending Pilgrims”

Alhaji Lamin Dan Baffa urged all intending Pilgrims to ensure that they pay the remaining balance before 28th March 2024 as directed by the National Hajj Commission NAHCON.

The Director General maintained that those to benefit from the Hajj Subsidy are those who have already paid part-Payment to the Board, saying over two thousand nine hundred intending Pilgrims have already made their part payment with the board.

Africa 247 recalled that early this week NAHCON announced the increase of Hajj Fares with N1,918,032.91,which make the total Hajj Fares to 6,617,032.91.

Meanwhile, fresh intending pilgrims are required to pay N8,254,464.74 as the full Hajj fare for this year as required by the National Hajj Commission.
