NIGER GOVERNOR WANTS CHRISTIANS TO SUSTAIN PRAYERS FOR ENDURING PEACE IN THE COUNTRY 31-03-24
By Sadiq Aminu Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has asked Christians to sustain the prayers for enduring peace in the state and Nigeria.
This he said had became imperative because peace is the prerequisite for any meaningful development.
The Governor stated this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim in Minna, congratulating Christians in Niger State and beyond on the Easter celebration.
Alh Umar Bago noted that Easter is a significant celebration observed by Christians to commemorate the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the hallmark of the Christian faith.
According to the Governor Easter season depicts love, sacrifice and forgiveness as epitomized by Jesus Christ.
While felicitating with the Christians on Easter celebration, the Governor also called on them to use the period to solemnly reflect and imbibe all the virtues of Jesus Christ for the good of all.
While urging them to take advantage of the period to sustain their prayers to Allah for an end to insecurity in the state and Nigeria the Governor restated his administration’s unwavering resolve to confront the security challenges bedevilling the state head on.
He however maintained that he is not resting on his oars to ensure that his policy thrusts for the “New Niger” are achieved.
