           By Sadiq Aminu                                                            The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre CISLAC, and Nigeria Chapter of Transparency International, has urged the federal government to Implement a comprehensive national social protection strategy that would provide access to healthcare, unemployment benefits, and pension plans for all workers, especially those within the informal sector.

In a Statement the Executive Director of CISLAC and Chairman, Board of Amnesty International, Auwal Rafsanjani emphasises the need to strengthen enforcement mechanisms for existing labor laws to ensure adherence to minimum wage standards and safety regulations in all workplaces.

According to the statement, Rafsanjani reiterates the organization’s unwavering commitment to advocating for Nigerian workers’ wellbeing and extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Nigerian workforce as the bedrock of the nation’s socio-economic progress.

He therefore advocates human development for workers training and refresher course that will equip Nigerian workers with the necessary skills to thrive in the evolving job market.
