POLICE COMMAND IN ANAMBRA ARRESTS POLICE OFFICERS SEEN IN A VIRAL VIDEO ASSAULTING A CITIZEN IN THE STATE                                                                                     22-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                            The Police Command in Anambra state has arrested the Police officers seen in a viral video assaulting a citizen in the state.

In a release, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Nnaghe Itam had ordered immediate disciplinary proceedings to commence on the incident.

Mr Ikenga said, Mr Itam assured members of the public that the Police officers had been identified and necessary actions would be taken against them.

He said the Command would also invite the victim to come forward and help in facilitating the necessary procedures involved in the process.

The Police Image Maker explained that the CP reiterated that the command under his watch would not tolerate any form of unprofessional conduct by police personnel and emphasized the need for Officers to be courageously calm when dealing with the civil populace especially when being provoked.

Mr Ikenga said, Mr Itam also urged citizens to always respect the civil authority and be law-abiding.
