FGN AWARDS CONTRACT FOR THE METERING OF THE 187 CRUDE FUEL STATIONS IN THE NIGER DELTA REGION BY THE NURPC 12-07-24
By Sadiq Aminu The Federal Government has Awarded a contract for the metering of the 187 crude fuel stations in the Niger Delta region by the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NURPC.
The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Oil, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri at a news briefing in Abuja, said the contract will cost 21 million U.S Dollars.
Senator Lokpobiri also informed that the contract for the Advance cargo, a technology for Monitoring the point of loading and the destination of the Crude oil has been given, all to be executed within 180 days.
The Minister of State Petroleum Resources Oil Senator Lokpobiri, said the development was to address crude Oil theft through monitoring and ensure a data base for the adequate quantity produced and exported.
On the issue of Divestments, The Minister said the government was restoring the confidence of the investing community willing to explore deep water exploration and was ensuring that ongoing Divestments were done with responsibility.
On the OML 245 oil blog, Senator Lokpobiri clarified that It is being resolved in an overriding national Strategic interest.
