FRSC RETURNS CASH, OTHER VALUABLES TO DECEASED FAMILY                                                                                                                        17-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC FCT Sector Command, has returned N1,034,010 million and other valuable items to the family of an accident victim who lost his live in a ghastly motor accident in the territory.

The Sector commander Muta’a Chorie while presenting the items in Abuja commended the Lugbbe personnel Unit Command for their transparency and diligence in recovering and returning the items.

He said In the rescue operations along Ido Airport road three people died and one of them, Najim Abiodun Babalola, a student of College of Education (COE) Zuba owns the bag, the money and other items in it.

Chorrie said that the event was a testament to the FRSC’s commitment to integrity and its mandate to serve the public with compassion and transparency

He, however, explained that a thorough investigation was conducted to ensure the items were genuinely owned by the deceased.

The recovered items include a bag, two POS machines, five ATM cards, a techno phone, a power bank, a rechargeable lamp and Cash worth N1,034,010.

“The deceased, Abiodun Babalola was a young promising man. I want to commend the Unit Command for the level of transparency they displayed”.

“As soon as they recovered the bag , they hid it so that some other people will not claim it or collect it from them.

According to him” The rescued team reported to the Command immediately.”

“We are handing them over to you the family. Five ATM cards, two POS machines, a techno phone, N1,034,010 cash, power bank, and a rechargeable lamp, they were all seen in the bag.”

“This is the tradition of the FRSC, whenever we see any valuable, we take our time to do investigations and return them and we commiserate with you,”he said.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr Abdulwasiu Ajiboye, expressed gratitude to the FRSC for their efforts in rescuing the deceased and returning the recovered items.

Ajiboye appreciated the Corps’ transparency and compassion during a difficult time adding that the FRSC did their best to rescue his brother.

“They said they tried their best to rescue them. It’s a sad situation, and there is nothing we can do.

Highpoints of the event was presentation of recommendation letters to the unit commander, team leader and othe officers at the rescue operations for their exemplary service.
