Addressing troops at the 212 Parade Ground in Maimalari Cantonment, General Musa emphasized the importance of his visit to assess military efforts during the crisis.

He commended the troops for their professionalism, stating, “I am glad and happy that the armed forces once again stood up and performed remarkably well. We are here to inspect and commend them for a job well done.”

General Musa urged the troops to eliminate remaining insurgents and announced ongoing efforts to increase military salaries and facilitate prompt rotations of troops in various operational theaters.

During his visit, the Defence Chief also extended condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum and Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi.

He highlighted the need for preventive measures against future flood disasters.

Governor Zulum acknowledged the crucial role of the military in saving lives during the flooding and reiterated his commitment to collaborate closely with the armed forces to maintain peace in the state.

“For about one week, the Nigerian military have worked tirelessly in rescuing those who were trapped as a result of the flood. One they did goes beyond them, they also transported the properties of the victims ” Zulum said.
