EDO PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN,’ SPEAKER, DEPUTY SPEAKER CONGRATULATE OKPEBHOLO AND IDAHOSA 23-09-24
By Sadiq Aminu The speaker of the House of Representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the governorship election held in Edo State, on his victory.
The Speaker in a congratulatory Message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Musa Krishi, said the Edo people have spoken through their votes.
Dr. Abbas who noted both the governor-elect and the deputy governor-elect are serving members of the National Assembly, said more parliamentarians are now holding significant stakes in politics and governance in Nigeria.
He urged them to work together for the common good of Edo people, adding that they should remain good ambassadors of the National Assembly.
The Speaker explained that with the victory in Edo, Nigerians are still keeping faith with the APC to bring positive changes to the country, especially under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
Similarly, the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Mr. Benjamin Kalu has hailed Senator Monday Okpebholo and Mr.Dennis Idahosa as Governor-elect and the Deputy-Governor elect at the just concluded governorship election in Edo State
The Deputy Speaker in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Levinus Nwabughiogu commended Edo people for returning APC to power in Edo State.
The Deputy Speaker also hailed his colleague, Hon. Dennis Idahosa who was elected Deputy Governor of the State.
Mr. Kalu, who urged Senator Okpebholo to show magnanimity in victory and also called on the incoming administration to work for the people of Edo State to elevate the current status of the State in line with the Renewed Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
