PRESIDENT TINUBU SWEARS IN JUSTICE KUDIRAT KEKERE-EKUN AS THE SUBSTANTIVE CHIEF JUSTICE OF NIGERIA                                                                           30-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                     President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the substancive Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN.

She was the second female CJN after Justice Maryam Aloma Mukhtar, who became the first female to occupy the office during the presidency of Goodluck Jonathan.

During an interview with Justice Mukhtar after the swearing-in event, she urged the new CJN to stand firm, remain focused, and protect her pedigree.

Similarly, Senate President Godswill Akpabio urged the new CJN to make Impactful reforms in the administration of justice, with particular emphasis on decongesting correctional centres across the country.

Senator Akpabio assured her of National Assembly’s support.
