NLC DELTA STATE COUNCIL CONSTITUTES A TASKFORCE TO ENSURE FULL COMPLIANCE OF THE NEW NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE                                                                       O3-10-24         By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Nigeria Labour Congress, Delta State Council,has constituted a taskforce to ensure the full compliance of the new national minimum wage in both public and private sectors in the twenty five local government areas of the state.

This was part of the resolutions taken at the State Executive Council meeting of NLC held at the Labour House, Asaba.

The meeting presided over by the Council Chairman, Comrade Goodluck Ofobruku, appreciated the Delta State Government for constituting the Negotiation Committee for the implementation of the new minimum wage in the state.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the State leadership of the congress, urged the State and local governments to immediately implement the new minimum wage in the state with effect from 29th July 2024 as contained in the enabling circular.

It called on the private sector to commence the payment of the new minimum wage to their workers in the state with immediate effect.

The SEC in session urged all workers to be patient and gave sb assurance that there would be full implementation of the New Minimum Wage in Delta State following its negotiation with the Delta State Government.
