HIS EMINENCE THE SULTAN OF SOKOTO DECLARES 4TH OF OCTOBER AS THE FIRST DAY OF RABIUL-SANI 1446AH, ISLAMIC CALENDAR                                                                                                                                     03-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   His eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared tomorrow the 4th of October as the first day of Rabiul Assani 1446AH , Islamic calendar.

This is in a statement signed by chairman Advisory Committee for religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu.

The Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs together with the National Moonlighting Committee across the country, did not receive information confirming the sighting of the new crescent of Rabiul Assani on Wednesday the 29th of Rabiul Assani 1446AH, equivalent to the 2nd October 2024 , noting that today Thursday the 3rd of October is the thirtieth of Rabiul Awwal 1446AH ,and tomorrow is the first of Rabiul Assani respectively.

The statement cited that the Monthly Observation of the moon,clarifies the Islamic Calendar within a given year, thereby making the month of Ramadan moon sightings more acceptable to the general Muslims in the Country.
